The
River View Hotel is located at the Havelock Road
hotel district, by the scenic and historical Singapore
River where Sir Stamford Raffles first landed
in 1819.
Even before Sir Stamford
Raffles stepped ashore in 1819, local fishermen
had tramped the banks and plied the waters of
the Singapore River. As the Nation developed,
the River witnessed the transformation of the
island into high-tech modernity.
Today, the River
View Hotel, the only hotel on the banks of the
Singapore River, captures the historic mood of
the the island nation right at its source. Today
life on the Singapore River begins at the River
View Hotel.
From the tranquillity
of the patio or the grassy bank, guests can relax
by the river as it quietly glides between the
rich cultural history of Singapore's past - a
peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of
the present city of Singapore. As the twilight
fades over the godowns on the opposite bank, the
birds call good evening and the lights begin to
twinkle.
